Samuel’s POV
I could feel David’s rage before I saw him. It pulsed through our bond like a second heartbeat, hot and bitter, mixing with my own confusion until I couldn’t tell where his emotions ended and mine began.
He found me in the courtyard, watching the sun set through the bare trees. Even that was different now, the colors more vivid, the light itself seeming to have texture and weight.
“Elena fed,” he said without preamble.
