We wake up to the children's voices calling for Christian, who I can see pretending to be asleep. He suddenly turns around and scares them.

They scream and run across the room, with Christian chasing them. He catches them and throws them onto the bed, landing on top of me.

"Dad, has the witch already left?" Lucas asks him seriously.

"She's not a witch," I reprimand them. "It's your grandmother, Mom's mother, who was upset and that's why she behaved like that. You shouldn't call her a witch."
