"Drink up, Rubes," Owen murmured, his deep voice sliding over my nerves like silk. "You look like you need to take the edge off."
I took a big gulp of the wine, not care-taking that it was probably too intoxicating to be chugged like beer. The warmth of the alcohol hit my empty stomach almost instantly, spreading a soft, glowing heat through my limbs.
