“Not alone,” Julian called out, voice perfectly steady. “Elena is finishing the merger notes. Give me two minutes.”

My heart slammed against my ribs so hard I felt dizzy. He grabbed my wrist and yanked me down. I dropped to my knees and crawled under the massive desk just as the door opened.

The space was tight and dark. My bare knees pressed into the thick carpet. My skirt was still wrinkled from where he had shoved it up earlier. The taste of him still coated my tongue. I could hear my own breathing and hated how loud it sounded.
