The second Ethan’s voice floated up the stairs I scrambled out of Marcus’s bed. My legs were unsteady. Between my thighs felt wet and sore in a way that made every step a reminder. I yanked my shirt over my head, shoved my shorts on without finding the underwear, and slipped into the hallway just as Ethan reached the top of the stairs.
He smiled when he saw me. Soft. Trusting. “There you are. Guest room door was open. Thought you might’ve gone downstairs already.”
