It occurred to me then that I had not known Claire as well as I had thought. Of course, she was rather quiet and unassuming, and I had always thought of her as just a nice girl. One of those girls who married, busied themselves with house keeping and children while their husbands worked, and relegated sex to something they put up with a couple times a month, (always in the dark and always missionary).
