I reached the doorway of Lucian’s study and paused for a moment, taking a deep breath before knocking gently.

“Come in,” came Lucian’s voice from the other side.

I opened the door slowly, stepping inside to find him seated at his desk, looking over some documents. When he looked up and saw me, a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
