Bella’s cheeks flushed a little, and she tried to look away, but I wasn’t going to let her hide. I leaned down, catching her eyes again. “I’m going to feed you today. You need your strength, Bella,” I added playfully.

She rolled her eyes but smiled. “I can eat on my own, Lucian. I’m not helpless.”

“Oh, I know you’re not,” I said, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. “But today, I’m in charge of making sure you’re well-fed. So, no arguing.”
