From the moment the day began, I realized that Penelope had become far too withdrawn for my comfort.

She was my wife, and it frustrated me that she felt the need to diminish herself into someone she wasn't.

Regarding Kira, we required the alliance, but I understood that I had to assert my authority over her. I needed to ensure she didn't attempt to act out of line. Although the wedding date had not yet been established, I was aware that sooner or later, we would be united in marriage.
