Oblivious to her wandering thoughts, Joe answered her, "Honestly, I don't know where it came from... or when it started."
The husband sighed while his shoulders took their usual form — slumped and dispirited. Much unlike the way he stood against his wife awhile ago, albeit briefly.
"Maybe it started when Tricia was born. I mean, I'm sure she just wants what's best for her. I want what's best for her too."
"You just disagree on what exactly is best for her, I get it."
He nodded blankly, turning to glance at her. "Right."
