“Remy? What are you doing here and what’s the matter?”

“Sacha, my mom got into an accident last night. She died this morning,” she answered and broke down in extreme tears. My heart ached for her and I pitied her because I too knew what it felt like to lose a parent unexpectedly to a vehicular accident.

I wrapped her into my arms, comforting her as she cried against my small chest.

“Sacha, I’m so sorry. I’m sorry for throwing away our friendship. I’m...I’m...I’m so stupid. I don’t know what I was thinking. I was so jealous of you that I...I....oh my god.”
