The nightmares started two nights after the rogue died in my bakery.
At first, I thought Kane was just restless. But then, I noticed how his small body would jolt awake, drenched in sweat, his hands clenched into fists. His breathing was uneven, his golden eyes flickering with something I couldn’t place. It wasn’t just a bad dream. It was something more.
