Emma pushed the door open to her apartment and heard the television. She poked her head inside to see Kirra curled up on the lounge and she sighed. She walked in and closed the door, pulling her keys out and hanging them on the hook by the door. She put her handbag and briefcase in their spot on the table underneath the key hook and tucked her hair behind her ears as she walked into the lounge room and sat beside Kirra.

     “You okay?” she asked.
