Chloe didn’t know what to say. Declan’s friends were Brian’s friends and by association, Cassie’s friends. Why didn’t she know this? And if that was true, then did Cassie know about their fake relationship?

     “Why didn’t you tell me?” Cassie asked.

     “It’s only new—”

     “I’m one of your closest friends and you didn’t tell me you had a boyfriend,” Cassie pouted.

     Brian came up to stand beside Cassie and smiled sympathetically at Chloe. “Nice to see you again, Chloe,” he said before shooting a questioning glance at Declan. “I think you had blonde hair last time we met?”
