Why do I not find Gerald's cordial greeting surprising?

Rosalie had already informed me that seeing me with Sebastian infuriated him. He was attempting to win me back because he was jealous. I have been hurt three times previously, but it is now behind me. I was faithful to the mate bond. I sacrificed too much of myself to fit Gerald's ideal mate.
