The morning cold embraced me as I squinted at the light slipping through the car window. I wrapped myself tightly in what looked like Nick’s jacket—at least, I supposed it was his. But when I looked around, he was nowhere to be found.
“Where did he go?” I murmured, my breath visible in the chilly air.
