Nick stood still, eyes fixated on her, but he didn’t flinch—not even for a second.
“What do you think you’re doing?” he asked, furrowing his brows.
Monica ignored his question and stepped even closer. Her red lingerie sparkled under the chandelier. Rising on her toes, she placed a soft kiss on Nick’s cheek.
“I’m in town because I’ve missed you, Nick,” she murmured, her voice low and seductive. “You know we were never supposed to end our relationship—if not for…”
Nick suddenly grabbed her arm. “Don’t you dare say it. That’s supposed to stay between us, remember?”
