I pulled out my phone to check on Lumina before we left for what could very well be a suicide mission. The boys would be at their therapy appointment by now, and I wanted to hear her voice one more time, just in case things went wrong in Shadow City.

The phone rang once, twice, then went straight to an automated message system. "The number you have dialed is not available. Please leave a message after the tone."
