When I saw it was Malakai who caught me, I hurriedly shifted my weight from him. Somehow, he was the one to blame. I was too focused on him that I forgot to check on my son.

"Alpha, Lady Clarabel's son is nowhere to be found," the captain announced, sweating profusely despite the drafts. "Master Kaedryn is missing. We cannot find him in the gardens or the lower barracks."

Malakai’s expression shifted instantly from curiosity to absolute fury. The sheer incompetence of his guards tore through his patience. 

“Missing?" he roared, the temperature in the corridor seemingly dropping ten degrees as he flared. “How?”
