GREENWOOD’S POV
My blood was practically boiling under my skin by the time I made it back from the southern watchtowers. The fires at the border had been a distraction, a few stray arrows, a couple of burning hay bales, and no sign of Malakai’s actual main force. It was a taunt. A quick, annoying slap to my face to remind me that Blood-Wing could poke at my edges whenever they pleased.
I stormed into the pack house, ignoring the guards who bowed as I passed. I didn't care about the border right now. I cared about the lying snake currently living under my roof.
