I shuddered in Aiden's embrace, cringing as I heard the sound of the gunshot.

I looked up, my heart thudding like crazy in my chest. Who were these people?

"They're after me, Adeline." Aiden mentioned.

The moment I looked into his blue eyes, my heart prickled with guilt. How was I going to tell him that I had slept with an unknown man last night?

Fuck Eva! Fuck my stupidity! I shouldn't have believed the stupid message if not I wouldn't have been in a mess like this.
