Without saying another word, I followed him into the bedroom, closing the door behind me as I did so. I laid down on the bed and he crawled onto the mattress and pressed a kiss against my forehead.

I immediately melted into his embrace. My eyelids started to droop tiredly. Dan chuckled and kissed my temple.

"Go to sleep, Alessia," he ordered softly.

I hummed contently and closed my eyes, relaxing into his touch. Soon enough, my breathing slowed and deepened until it eventually stopped altogether.
