It took my mind a long moment to put the past-tense verb "was" together with the year - a year that was still almost a century and a half in the future.
"I traveled back in time to see you. You are my great-grandfather, ten times removed."
The first question bubbled into my mind immediately.
"Why me?" I asked.
"My father is deathly ill and the doctors think that you can help," she stated.
"How?" I inquired.
"I'm supposed to return with your DNA samples. They claim that they can extract what they need from those."
"Blood?"
"Semen."
"Is that why you're dressed like my dead wife - your great-grandmother...
