Evelyn still hadn’t come up to bed, both Ryland and Thaddeus were curled up together fast asleep beside me. Ryland tossed slightly as he dreamed. I wasn’t game enough to interfere in his head. I didn’t want to see what haunted him, I already knew by the anguish smashing me in the bond. I shake his shoulder and he opens his eyes for a second before rolling over and spooning Thaddeus. My shaking him must have been enough to disturb his dreams as he settled peacefully, his heart rate calming.
