That morning, Nico woke up earlier than usual. After making sure Calvin was ready for school, he hurried downstairs without saying much. At the dining table, Celine had already prepared breakfast.  

"Nico, have breakfast first. I've made hot tea too," Celine said in a low voice, trying to be friendly.  

Nico paused for a moment at the door, but didn't turn around. He sighed, then said briefly, "I'm not hungry," before exiting the house without looking at Celine.  

Celine stood there, staring at the closed door. She wrung her hands, feeling something empty inside her. "What did I do..." she muttered softly.
