The old man was sitting on his bed, his glasses resting on his nose, while Faye sat quietly on a small chair before him. she told him everything the nanny, Cordelia, had revealed.
When she finished speaking, her grandfather sighed deeply. "Then Josey must have been the one who poisoned your food," he said slowly, looking straight at her.
Faye nodded, her hands tightening on her lap. "She was always cruel to me, Grandpa. Especially when I started middle school. Maybe she found out that I'm my father's real daughter. That's when everything changed."
