"... And that's all the instructions His Highness left for me before he departed, Claire."

Alfred filled me in on everything, and I was shocked by the sudden bad news and Louis's cautious arrangements. I was at a loss for words.

"But don't worry, Claire. I've arranged for someone to pick up your friend Olivia and her brother in advance. They're probably on their way here now."

At least that was some good news. With that thought, my panicked nerves eased a bit.

"So, what do I do now?"

"The first thing you're gonna do is eat some breakfast."
