God knows how much I wanted to defy Alpha Evans’s orders and prevent his upcoming actions. But as Evans’s Beta, loyalty is my instinct. All I can do is obey unconditionally, even if I would rather sacrifice my own life to stop this command.

“Yes, Alpha.”

I lowered my head, trying to hide the tears welling up in my eyes. A warrior must not cry, just as he must never betray his loyalty to his Alpha.

Alpha waved me away and turned his back. “Go.”
