Dallan did exactly what Hazel suggested: go to the gate and find out the latest about his brother.

They did not get anything beneficial. There wasn't any news about Drab and his partner. It wasn't like Dallan wasn't expecting newer about them, since no one knew they were leaving for the vampire clan.

Hazel stayed beside Dallan at the gate. She was too nervous to sit and too agitated to stand on a spot, so she started a slow pace along the security quarters. Dallan managed to sit even though he was feeling very uncomfortable.
