It was finally morning. Tara was still asleep beside me, curled on her side with one hand tucked under her cheek, the other resting on the small curve of her belly. Her breathing was deep and even, with her lips slightly parted. She looked peaceful in a way she hadn’t in weeks, maybe since Gianna showed up and turned the house into a pressure cooker.
