Asher’s POV

The alarm hit like a hammer to the skull, sharp and blaring, cutting through the fog of sleep. I bolted up, my heart slamming against my ribs, with a knife in my hand before my feet hit the floor.

Rogue attack.

The perimeter sirens never lied. I yanked on sweats, grabbed my phone, and was out the door in seconds, bare feet pounding the hallway.

Downstairs was chaos. Guards were already moving, my beta yelling orders into his radio. "South wall, three of them, armed but sloppy. Looks like scouts."
