Andrew got back and unlocked the door, his movements quiet and gentle. He saw Astrid cuddled up and crying, her body shaking with sobs.

He lay beside her, his presence calm and comforting. The two of them stayed there for a while, enjoying each other's company.

But Astrid's peaceful morning was interrupted by John's knock on the door. Andrew got up to answer it, his expression changing from calm to concerned.

"What's is it?" Andrew asked, his voice low and even.
