I was jolted awake by the sound of footsteps coming from the corridor outside this room, which also smelled like something I wasn't used to sensing. When I blinked my eyes rapidly back and forth, I was greeted with the appearance of a sophisticated little chandelier. It was dangling in my line of sight the whole time. Its lights, which were built to encircle it like stacked steps, had been beaming through my eyes, and as a result, it had produced a line of radiance. Before I stood up, I blinked my eyes several times and rotated my head from side to side before sitting up.
