Ryan dashed to his mother's room as soon as his uncle left the home for the second time that day. When Ryan entered the house and saw her mother lying on the bed with her eyes closed, he let out a hopeful smile as he walked in front of the open door to her room. Sitting at the side of the bed, he touched the face of his frail and pale mother with his fingertips.
