I slammed my hand into my chest to keep my heart from bursting, stilling the shake in my hands as I gazed out over the window again as the doorknob rattled harder.
“Oh God, oh god!” I whispered to myself, trying not to cry as my hands shook on the glass pane before I pushed it out, feeling a wave of vertigo hit before I brought my head back into the room, feeling fuzzy.
