VERA'S POV

I paced back and forth in the control room, biting my nails. Time was moving slowly, and my anxiety was reaching its peak.

"Shouldn't he be back yet?" I turned to Elias who was watching the surveillance screen.

"You should calm down Mrs. Gold, I'm sure he has everything under control."

His words were supposed to calm me, but instead, they made things worse.

"What if that's not the case?" I argued.

He turned his body fully to me. "I assure you that the boss is fine."
