"Cassian what are you doing this for?" My brows tightened, but it was no match for the anger welling inside me.

"Doing what?" He flagged the detonator in my face again, making me realise just how powerless I was at the moment.

"Please, stop this madness." My voice softened, even more than I realised.

"Madness?" He laughed. “I've been called a lot of things, and now mad is one of them. Great.”

I exhaled deeply, turning to Vera. Her eyes were soggy, and I couldn't imagine just how terrified she was.
