For the first time in my life, I had never seen Renee so broken. So devastated and lost.

The image of her trembling frame, her tear-filled eyes, and pale face was still etched in my mind. I had never seen her in that way before.

She wasn’t even like that when she realized that her mum wasn’t in the mental asylum like she was told, that she was dead…

But this time, she seemed scared, like some monster was out for her. Like darkness was slowly encroaching upon her and I hated it.

I had never seen her so traumatized. It felt as if something wasn’t done soon...
