The ride was quiet in that warm, comforting way. I had never felt so relaxed and at peace in a long time.

Jeremy’s hand loosely held mine across the console, thumb drawing lazy circles on my palm as we drove through the city.

My cheek rested against the window, watching buildings roll by until the car slowly pulled into a space beside a boutique named ‘Sẽra’- so grand I thought my eyes were deceiving me. Wide glass, gold handles, mannequins dressed like expensive runway models.
