As I drove out of the underground garage and headed for Cameron Hotel, I dialed Callum’s number.
I needed his help—and fast. Lilith might be in danger, and I had to confirm under whose name Room 503 was booked.
Fortunately, unlike me, Callum kept his phone on vibrate during meetings.
He picked up after a few rings.
“You sure have sharp timing,” he said lightly. “The meeting just ended. I'm sure you're curious as to how the floor reallocation discussion went—”
I cut him off. “Lilith is in danger.”
The silence on the other end lasted a beat too long. Then his voice shifted and became grave. “What happened?”...
