It took a while to compose myself. But even after I did, I didn’t continue reading the journal.
Not just because a single entry had left me this emotionally drained—though that alone was enough—but because I hadn’t forgotten why I’d searched for it in the first place.
I needed it to unlock the tablet.
With that in mind, I turned to the last page of the journal. And just like I remembered, several password patterns were scribbled there.
Without wasting time, I stood and grabbed the tablet from the vanity. Settling back down on the bed, I prepared to try them one by one.
