He stared at me for a few long seconds, then leaned back and said quietly.

“You’ve really changed, Lily.”

The second he called me that, my face twisted in disgust.

How could the same name sound so different depending on who said it?

Dean calling me sounded way better.

“Kindly call me Lilith from now on,” I said coldly, not bothering to hide the disdain in my eyes.

A flicker of darkness passed across his face, but it vanished just as quickly.

“I know this isn’t the real you,” he began slowly. “Someone must’ve misled you... lied to you with ill intent.”
