"Fuck, Riley, I cannot study like this at all," I groaned out loud while slamming my textbook shut with a loud thud and then tossing it right onto the carpet where it landed in a heap, the pages fluttering a little before settling down.

The dorm room felt like a goddamn oven, the ancient air conditioner had crapped out completely about two hours ago, leaving us both sweating buckets, and the windows were jammed open just a tiny crack that did nothing to let in any real air, so the heat just built up and up, making everything sticky and unbearable.
