Mason’s POV

  

  

   I lay flat on my back right in the center of the football field with the grass poking into my shoulder blades and the floodlights glaring down so bright they made spots dance in my vision even though practice had ended twenty minutes ago. 

  

  

   The coach had kept us late drilling the same plays over and over until my legs felt like jelly and now this sharp cramp twisted through my right thigh every time I flexed the muscle making me suck in air through my teeth and hold it there.
