Max shrugs slightly before pulling away from their embrace.

“Well, I figured you’d wanna be alone right now. I’ve seen your text earlier.” Sophie nods before turning around, grabbing a bag from her closet before making her way over to her dresser.

“You can come in, Max,” Sophie calls out and sits on her bed once she’s finished putting on her shoes. Max steps in and takes a seat next to her on the bed. He turns to face her and gives her an apologetic look.
