"How was work?" he asked her as he led her back into the living room.

"Fine, I guess. I've heard that the new project is going well," she answered as she followed behind him.

"Yeah. I haven't been home much, but I've been working pretty hard lately. It's finally come time for me to go back."

She nodded in understanding.

"Do you mind if I tag along? I want to see how it goes."

"Of course you can! You don't need to ask," he exclaimed eagerly.

She grinned at him before leaning forward and placing a soft kiss on his cheek. They both laughed softly as they settled themselves down...
