"Why am I doing this?" he complains exasperatedly to himself as he plays yet another game of chess with the opposing team's captain.

"This isn't gonna work..." he mumbles under his breath.

"Oh, calm down, kid," the guy comments dryly, giving Max a slight grin. Will narrows his eyes at him, feeling annoyed at the fact that everyone seems to think that this isn't working at all.

"It's not gonna work because nobody here is smart enough to play chess properly. Why don't you guys just go back to sitting in the bleachers instead? Then you won't be cheating and wasting my money," he snarls irritably.
