"What took you so long?" Alpha Kade's baritone voice reverberated throughout the hallway, startling me.

"Fuck." I cursed silently, letting out a short gasp before heaving a sigh of relief.

I swallowed. "I was just ten minutes behind time." A light chuckle left my throat, hoping it would convince Alpha Kade, but his stoic face confirmed his disapproval.
