Amidst Zoey's questioning, Kendrick snatches the phone from her. His voice low and steady, he calls out “Elodie”

His nerves itch, anxious to hear her voice. They've been waiting to contact her for hours, and it's sundown already. He was restless. The sudden connection is relieving but it's short-lived.
