The dim light flickered overhead, casting long shadows along the concrete walls of the abandoned warehouse. The air smelled of damp wood, gasoline, and dust.
Lola stirred, her head pounding as she slowly regained consciousness.
Her wrists were tied to the chair, the rough rope biting into her skin. Panic surged through her, but she forced herself to stay calm. Blinking rapidly, she lifted her head, trying to make sense of where she was.
The last thing she remembered was leaving her penthouse.
